Tikhoretskaya is a Railway hub of the North-Caucasus Railway. In the 2010s, Lengiprotrans developed the reconstruction of the station within the framework of the project “Comprehensive reconstruction of railway section Kotelnikovo — Tikhoretskaya — Korenovsk — Timashevskaya — Krymskaya with a by-pass of the Krasnodar Hub of the North-Caucasus Railway”.

The reconstruction of Tikhoretskaya station was envisaged to update the railway infrastructure and increase the throughput in the direction of the ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin. According to calculations, the road should ensure the export of additional 59.8 million tons of cargo. In 2015, Lengiprotrans developed a general scheme for the development of the Tikhoretsk railway hub, which was coordinated with the  Projects Expertise and Estimates Department  of JSC Russian Railways.  Within the framework of the general scheme, 3 stages of the station reconstruction were identified:
I. Reconstruction of the park C;
II. Construction of the main tracks of the Salsk — Krasnodar direction;
III. Reconstruction of the park K.

In 2015–2016, the design and working documentation for stage I was completed, associated with lengthening the receiving-and-departure tracks of the park C to a useful length of 1050 m to ensure the reception and departure of freight trains up to 71 conventional wagons with replacement of electric interlocking. In 2016–2018, design documentation was developed for the stage II — Construction of the main tracks of the Salsk — Krasnodar direction and for the stage III — Reconstruction of the park K. The design documentation provides for the construction of new main tracks bypassing parks A and B with an overpass.

In 2016–2018, Lengiprotrans JSC developed 100% of the working documentation for stage I, the release of RD for Stage II and III is planned for 2019.

The state examination, departmental examination of JSC Russian Railways and the approval of project documentation are scheduled for 2019. The implementation of stage I is envisaged in 2019, stages II and III —  in 2020.
