Chudovsky plant of reinforced concrete sleepers

Чудовский завод железобетонных шпал

By order of the Ministry of Transport Construction of the USSR, Lengiprotrans designed the Chudovsky Reinforced Concrete Sleepers Plant (RCS). In the 1960-1970s, due to the growth of cargo transportation, the increase in the length and weight of trains, the used wooden sleepers began to be replaced by ZhBSh. The latter have a longer service life, provide uniform elasticity of the track along the length and stability in the ballast against shear.

The Chudovsky plant was commissioned in 1965. In 1967 he became a member of the USSR Ministry of Building Materials. Up to the present time, this plant has been producing the entire range of sleepers and bars for turnouts.
