The Lianozovo Carriage Repair Plant (VRZ) was built near Moscow near the former village of Lianozovo in the 1930s. It was intended for the repair of four-axle passenger cars in the amount of 1,500 pieces per year.
The Lianozovsky VRZ project was developed by the specialists of Lentranszavodproekt, which in 1936 became part of Lentransproekt (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans), where work on the object was continued.
Main characteristics of the structure:
• length - 376 m;
• width - 246 m;
• area - 60 thous. sq. m.
After the construction of the Lianozovsky VRZ, it became the largest of the factories of the Ministry of Railways, intended for the repair of passenger cars. The size and equipment of the plant allowed in the future to organize the production of new all-metal cars in the amount of up to 800 units per year.
In 1951, the enterprise was redesigned for the production of complex electronic equipment, now it is the research and production association "Lianozovsky Electromechanical Plant".
