Strengthening the carrying capacity of the Makushino - Omsk - Novosibirsk line

Project Status:
Усиление провозной способности линии Макушино — Омск — Новосибирск

Makushino - Omsk - Novosibirsk is a section that is part of the South Ural and West Siberian railways.

During the Great Patriotic War, the specialists of Lentransproekt (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans) performed design work on signaling and communication devices on the Makushino - Novosibirsk section. The carrying capacity of the line was increased to ensure the supply of the country through the Far East and transportation during the subsequent war with Japan.

The line was equipped with the simplest devices that meet the needs of wartime: these are overhead communication lines, telephone communications, semaphore signaling, an electric wedge system, and semi-automatic blocking.
