Karaganda railway station

Вокзал Караганда

Since its inception, Lentransproekt (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans) has been involved in the transport development of the Kazakh SSR. First of all, the railways were intended for the development of virgin and fallow lands of the republic.

In addition, the institute has designed a number of ground structures to ensure the operation of the transport infrastructure. In particular, a project has been developed for a new railway station in the city of Karaganda. The two-story building housed two waiting rooms, lounges, a post office, a public telephone office, an information desk, ticket offices, lockers and other ancillary facilities. The inner halls are decorated with bas-reliefs made according to drawings by the Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR P.K. Antonenko.

The station was commissioned in 1956. It is located in the very center of the city. There is a bus station nearby, with which they form a convenient transport hub.
