In 1930-1940s Lengiprotrans developed the general layout of the Riga railway junction. It was of strategic importance for the economic development of the Republic of Latvia and the Soviet Union as a whole, since Riga was a large transit center, where cargo was transshipped from the railway to port ships in the Baltic Sea.

In the post-war period, the institute developed a project for the capital restoration of the railway junction in Riga. In the future, the unit was updated and new technical equipment was introduced to ensure the growing cargo turnover. At the railway junction, a cargo yard was designed, communication devices were modernized and a cable line was installed.

Design work continued in the new century. In the 2000s, Lengiprotrans developed a new development scheme for the Riga railway junction and design documentation for individual objects. In particular, in 2004 the Concept for the Development of the Main Railway Corridors of the Latvian Railway was developed. Its main provisions were used by the German company DE-Consult for the preparation of tender materials for the construction of objects along the highways Riga - Krustpils, Daugavpils - Krustpils - Jelgava - Ventspils and others.
