Railway line Bui - Svecha - a section of the Northern Railway. In the 1960s - 1970s Lengiprotrans developed a project for second tracks on this section.
In 1967-1969, geological surveys were carried out and a design assignment was drawn up. In 1971, the project was approved, and construction began, which was carried out in two stages.
In the course of the work, the development of stations was carried out with the lengthening of the receiving and departure tracks to 850 m, the widening of the inter-paths, the addition of tracks, as well as landing platforms, stations, villages with complete improvement at large stations.
The design and construction was complicated by the passage of large sections of the route through swampy terrain. In particular, for this reason, at the Sharya station (694 km), the Rassolovo - Khramki section, the second track was moved to a separate roadbed.
The electrification of the line was carried out along with the construction of second tracks and the development of stations.
