The construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) can rightfully be called a significant achievement of transport construction at the end of the 20th century. The specialists of Lengiprotrans were engaged in the design of BAM sections in different periods: Komsomolsk - Sovetskaya Gavan in the 1940s, Chara - Tynda in 1967-1984.
The tasks for the development of BAM have been updated in recent times. So, in 2013, the President and the Government of the Russian Federation adopted an investment project "Modernization of the railway infrastructure of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways with the development of carrying and carrying capacities", which included Lengiprotrans designing several objects.
The Yuktali - Talum section is located at the pressure of the Nyukzha river (on the left side - a rocky slope, on the right side - a river). The required carrying capacity of the haul was higher than the available one, so a second track was needed with the reconstruction of Talum station.
The development of design documentation has been carried out by the institute since the 4th quarter of 2014, developed in full. The conclusion of the Department of Project Expertise and Estimates for the project was received in April 2016. Working documentation was developed. In 2017, field supervision was carried out.
