Klaipeda is a large ice-free port in Lithuania on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. Here the import and export of goods such as oil, coal, timber, metals, cotton, grain is carried out.
On the territory of the port there is an installation for loading coal, a tank farm, port cranes for loading and unloading sea cargo, a shipyard. In the period 1956-1970, the Department of nodes and stations of Lengiprotrans developed a project for the external railway transport of the oil depot.
