Автодорожный мост через пролив Большая Салма

The highway bridge was designed and built in the 1960s and is located on the 1198 km of the Leningrad-Murmansk highway (the current name is R-21 "Kola").

Before the construction of the Leningrad-Murmansk highway on the Kandalaksha-Murmansk section, Babinskaya Imandra and Yokostrovskaya Imandra were connected by two channels - Bolshaya and Uzkaya Salma. During the construction of the bridge, the Uzkaya Salma channel was filled with an embankment. The width of the Bolshaya Salma channel before the construction of the road was about 400 m, after the construction of the bridge it was narrowed by approach embankments to 70 m.

In the project, original devices for rock-fill bridge supports were developed.
Bridge layout 1x83.0 m, bridge length - 92 m.
