Tikhoretsk Mechanical Repair Plant (now Tikhoretsk Machine-Building Plant named after V.V. Vorovsky) was founded in 1899 at the Tikhoretskaya junction station of the North Caucasian Railway. It became the largest city-forming enterprise in the north-east of the Kuban.
In the 1950s, a project was developed for the reconstruction of the plant in connection with its transformation into a machine-building one. During this period, the plant introduced the production of new types of machines: ballast and compaction machines, crushing and screening plants, diesel locomotive jacks TD-40, snowblowers SM-2 and snowplow trains based on them.
At present, the plant produces track machines for the current repair and maintenance of the railway track, repair, construction and restoration work on the contact network of electrified railways.
