Roslavl steam locomotive repair plant

Рославльский паровозовагоноремонтный завод

The Roslavl Carriage Repair Plant (VRZ) was established in 1868 as the Main repair shops of the Oryol-Vitebsk, Riga-Orlov, Moscow-Belarusian-Baltic railways. Initially, he carried out the repair and improvement of two-axle freight cars.

During the Great Patriotic War, by order of the People's Commissariat for Ways of Communication, the Roslavl shipyard was evacuated to the Otrozhsky shipyard named after Telman to Voronezh. In the post-war years, the Lentransproekt Plant Department (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans) developed a project for the restoration of the enterprise.
