In the post-war years, the Department of Plants of Lentransproekt (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans) developed a project for the reconstruction of the Gatchina Engine Repair Plant on the instructions of the Leningrad Oblast Executive Committee. It was created on the basis of the restored production premises of the former gramophone plant.
The plant was intended for the repair of tractor engines at machine-tractor stations in the Leningrad Region. It was designed to overhaul 1,250 engines per year and manufacture spare parts.
