The main goal of the project was the development of technical solutions for the maintenance of terminals of ULTK (Ust-Luga Container Terminal), AJPK (Automobile and Rail Transshipment Complex), MPC Yug-2 (Multi-profile transshipment complex Yug- 2 "), warehouse logistics center.
Luzhskaya-Yuzhnaya station is located in the north-western part of Kingiseppsky district of the Leningrad region on the eastern shore of the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. In connection with the development of the Sea Trade Port "Ust-Luga" and the construction of new terminals, it became necessary to develop the existing park of the Luzhskaya station (consisting of three exhibition routes) into an independent Luzhskaya-Yuzhnaya station.
The project proposes the development of the station in two stages. At the first stage, it is planned to build additional reception paths, with the reconstruction of existing (bringing to the normative values) with a full range of works on the development of the railway infrastructure in the amount necessary for servicing the terminals. The station adjoins the common railway network at the odd throat of the existing Luzhskaya-Severnaya station.
In the second stage, there were two additional reception paths at the station for servicing non-public routes in full.
The structure of works on the construction of railway infrastructure includes:
1. Construction of tracks at the Luzhskaya-Yuzhnaya station:
- four receiving-ways, useful length not less than 1050 m;
- three exhaust paths;
- one exhibition way;
- way for locomotive sedimentation;
- five sorting ways for selection according to the weight rate of the trailers for the ferry;

2. Construction of a complex of buildings and structures (post EC, administrative building, shunting post, heating points, transfer station, compressor station);
3. Devices of the EC-EM station and electric heating of switch points
4. Construction of the following communication devices:
- primary communication networks;
- separation and station technological radio communication;

- vernal communication networks;
- two-way park communication;
- shunting radio communication;
- operational and technological communication;
5. The device of security and fire alarm of buildings and constructions;
6. Construction of low voltage networks and outdoor lighting;
7. Arrangement of transfer decks for the ring fire-prevention road in the reception park and landscaping;
8. Arrangement of highways and areas ensuring the access of motor transport to all buildings and structures;
9. Complex of automated accounting of carload turnover "КАУ-В";
10. Construction of the following water supply and sewerage systems:
- economically potable water supply;
- fire water supply;
- household and rain sewerage systems with surface sewage treatment facilities;
11. Construction of heating and ventilation systems;
12. Construction of carload scales.
