Experts of the FAI Glavgosexpertiza of Russia reviewed the design and estimate documentation for the construction of the Vostochnaya substation with external power supply from the Luzhskaya-tyagovaya substation. Based on the results of the state examination, positive conclusions were issued.
The works will take place in the Kingisepp District of the Leningrad Region, in the southern part of the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. The construction of a new railway station Luzhskaya-Vostochnaya is being carried out as part of a comprehensive reconstruction of the Mga — Gatchina — Weimarn — Ivangorod section and railway approaches to ports on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland.
The project, approved by Glavgosexpertiza, provides for the construction of the Vostochnaya traction substation, intended for the distribution and transformation of electricity, as well as power supply of electric rolling stock and other railway and other consumers. As part of the project, a railway access track and highways will be built here, a traction substation site with modular complete switchgears, transformers, modules for various purposes and other structures will be built.
For external power supply of the substation, an overhead line with a length of 18.612 km will be built between it and the existing traction substation Luzhskaya.
In addition, the project includes the construction of drainage systems and drainage structures, the laying and reconstruction of engineering networks, landscaping and other necessary work.
The project for the construction of a traction substation was developed by JSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Companies), the developer and investor is JSC Russian Railways.
