The Novgorod - Smolensk line was designed as a link of the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) - Orel railway, the construction of which began in pre-revolutionary times, but was suspended due to the First World War.

Surveys on the route were carried out in 1912, 1914, 1917, 1930–1931 and 1934. By 1935, the technical conditions, according to which the previous design and survey work were carried out, became obsolete. Lentransproekt (since 1951 - Lengiprotrans) was instructed to draw up a new complex technical project.

Vorkuta - Yugorskiy Shar is one of the northernmost objects of Lengiprotrans, completely located outside the Arctic Circle.

In the early 1930s, large reserves of coking coal were discovered in the Vorkuta region. In this regard, it was decided to build a railway line Vorkuta - Yugorsky Shar, which provided the shortest exit for exporting Vorkuta coals to the Barents Sea and further in the direction of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.

In the 1980s, the Architectural and Construction Department (now the Department of Industrial and Civil Buildings and Structures) of Lengiprotrans designed a large number of multi-purpose buildings. Among other things, projects were developed for a public block "A" and a dormitory for the House of Creativity of Soviet Filmmakers in Alushta on the Crimean Peninsula.

The bridge across the Chumysh River is designed on the Meret — Srednesibirskaya railway line. The new route was supposed to remove from the Trans-Siberian Railway the transportation of coal from the Kuzbass and the Kansk-Achinsky deposit, as well as complete the formation of the Central Siberian railway.

The Meret - Central Siberian railway line was designed on the modern West Siberian railway. It was intended for the export of coal from the Kuzbass basin to the western regions of Russia. In the 1980s, Government Resolutions were adopted to increase coal production in Kuzbass and to develop the Kansko-Achinsky deposit located to the east. The new route was supposed to remove the transportation of Kuzbass coal from the Trans-Siberian Railway, as well as complete the formation of the Central Siberian Railway.

The viaduct across the Biryulya river is designed on the Meret - Srednesibirskaya railway line. The new route was supposed to remove from the Trans-Siberian Railway the transportation of coal from the Kuzbass and the Kansko-Achinsky deposit, as well as complete the formation of the Central Siberian railway.

The length of the bridge is 457 m, the height of the supports is more than 52 m.

Electric depot TC "Pravoberezhnoe" is a planned depot of the Pravoberezhnaya line of the St. Petersburg metro. In 1980-1990, Lengiprotrans developed a feasibility study for the construction of the facility. The structure was intended for maintenance and routine repair of electric trains.

The depot is supposed to be located behind the Kudrovo station, the project of which is also in the process of being implemented. The commissioning of the depot was scheduled for 2025.

In 1970-1980 Lengiprotrans developed the project of the railway line Mogzon - Ozerny mining and processing plant (Ozerny GOK). The dead-end line was intended for the transport connection of the GOK with the Russian railway network. At the Mogzon station, the line adjoins the Trans-Baikal Railway.

In the 1970s, a new stage in the development of fields in the north of Western Siberia began in the country. However, a serious problem was the lack of sustainable transport links in the region. The construction of the railway was seen as the most profitable solution.

In the 1960s Lengiprotrans was involved in the development of the Tulun-Beloziminsk highway project. The end point is now known as the village of Belaya Zima by the river of the same name. The road was supposed to pass in the Tulunsky district of the Irkutsk region.
