In 1950-1960s Lengiprotrans developed a project for the reconstruction of a railway station in Riga. This was the first renovation of the building since its construction at the end of the 19th century on the Moscow-Vindavo-Rybinsk railway.
A new part and a major overhaul of the existing part of the building have been designed. Inside the station there are large waiting rooms and utility rooms. The building is made in the style of monumentalism with the use of marble and granite. For the first time in the construction history of Riga, an aluminum finish was used in the construction of the station.
The opening of the restored station took place on July 21, 1960, to the anniversary date - the 20th anniversary of the Latvian SSR.
In the same period, the specialists of Lengiprotrans designed the railway post office and carried out the reconstruction of the Riga railway junction.
