The Esil - Lomonosovskaya - Uritskoye railway line is a narrow-gauge railway that played a significant role in the first period of the development of the virgin lands of Kazakhstan.
The project of the railway line was transferred to Lengiprotrans from Zheldorproekt in connection with the merger in 1955.
In 1954, preliminary and final surveys were carried out on the priority section Esil - Lomonosovskaya with a length of 95 km. The design assignment was completed on February 18, 1955 and approved by the Ministry of Railways on April 25, 1955.
Working drawings were issued in 1954 before the approval of the design assignment. At the same time, construction work was carried out. Temporary train traffic was opened in August 1955.
In 1955, the final surveys, restoration and consolidation of the Lomonosovskaya - Uritskoye section of 58 km long were carried out. The design assignment was not drawn up, since the construction of a narrow gauge track on this section was deemed inappropriate.
