On April 28, 2018, PJSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Companies) received a positive conclusions of FAI Glavgosexpertiza No. 0257-18 / KGE-2404/05 on verifying the reliability of determining the estimated cost of a capital construction according to the project documentation “Construction of two and lengthening of one track in the East Park of Balezino station ".
The project solves the problem of increasing the station's capacity and ensuring the reception of transit trains of increased length to the Vostochny park of Balezino station. This will happen due to the priority measures for the reconstruction of Vostochny Park, which include the construction of two receiving and departure tracks with a length of 1500 m and the lengthening of one existing track to a useful length of 1500 m.
Balezino station is located in the Republic of Udmurtia on the Kirov-Perm line and is part of the Kirov region of the Gorkovskaya railway. This is one of the key traction current docking stations on the Russian railway network; it serves both passenger and freight trains.
For the efficiency of the railway in general and the station in particular, it is necessary to take a number of measures to improve the organization of the work of the Balezino station in the face of an increase in freight turnover on the Northern route of the Gorky railway.
According to the studies carried out by PJSC Lengiprotrans, a phased reconstruction of the Balezino station is required, which includes three additional stages:
- reconstruction of the tracks of the Western park of the station and the construction of a new combined post of the EC;
- reconstruction of the locomotive maintenance point (PTOL) with the construction of additional tracks for their storage;
- construction of an additional main track bypassing the Eastern Park of Balezino station.
This year Lengiprotrans intends to carry out a full range of engineering surveys and develop basic design solutions for the reconstruction of Balezino station of the Gorkovskaya railway.
