The single-track section Rudny - Checkpoint 1303 km, 9.2 km long, is located on the electrified section Kandalaksha - Olenegorsk of the main line Volkhovstroy - Murmansk of the Oktyabrskaya railway. The implementation of the project will increase the throughput capacity of the section and ensure the growth of cargo traffic to the operating and under construction ports of the northern part of the Kola Peninsula. _one_
The design solutions provide for the elimination of Checkpoint 1303 km with the construction of 11.8 km of electrified main track II and the reconstruction of the Rudny siding into a waypoint. Work is also planned to reconstruct the existing I main track, contact network, and signaling devices. At the approaches to the Rudny post, along the axis of the new main track, a metal railway bridge across the Kuna River with a length of 65 meters will be built. _one_
