Ventspils is a deep-water ice-free port on the Baltic Sea coast in Latvia. Port terminals handle oil products, liquid chemical products, coal, metal, minerals, timber, grain, containers and other cargo.
In the period 1976-1985, Lengiprotrans developed a project for the external railway transport of the Ventspils Port Plant. In particular, at the Ventspils station, the development of the railway fleet and electrical interlocking were planned.
