Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers named after Academician V.N. Obraztsova (LIIZhT, now the Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University, PGUPS) is a higher technical educational institution in Russia, created at the beginning of the 19th century with the aim of training specialists for the construction of land and water transport routes.

The administrative and educational building of LIIZhT on Obukhovskaya Square was designed by the specialists of Lengiprotrans in the 1950s. The construction of the building finally formalized the layout of Obukhovskaya Square in St. Petersburg.
