Podporozhye intermediate station is located at 280 km of the double-track section Svir — Lodeinoye Pole of the Volkhovstroy —Murmansk main line and borders on a single-track bridge over the Svir River.
The documentation provides for the reconstruction of the I and II main track, lengthening the receiving and departing tracks to a usable length of 1050 m, commissioning a new CBI post with EC-EM microprocessor interlocking station equipment and modern means of communication. The project also includes the construction of a heating station for track fitters and the installation of noise barriers to limit the noise impact from train traffic on residential buildings in the city of Podporozhye.
The reconstruction of the Podporozhye station is one of the top-priority measures for the long-term increase in the cargo turnover of the Volkhovstroy — Murmansk line.
Design management was carried out by the chief project engineer of the electrical department Nikita Yuryevich Mizarev.
