On December 7, 2020, JSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Companies) received a positive conclusion of FAI Glavgosexpertiza for the "Murmansk —Petrozavodsk, construction of second public railways. Station Pinozero of the Oktyabrskaya Railway" project.
Intermediate station Pinozero is located on the Olenegorsk — Kandalaksha section of the Murmansk — Volkhovstroy line. In the direction of Olenegorsk — Kandalaksha the station works as a passing point, in the direction of Kovdor — Kandalaksha as a siding.
The station provides for the extension of the receiving and departure tracks to a useful length of at least 1100 m with the conversion of an even neck and the replacement of the outdated relay system for electrical interlocking of switches and signals with a microprocessor-based MPTs-EL type with the construction of CBI.
The design management was carried out by the chief engineer of the project of the department of nodes and stations Sergey Vladimirovich Kulkov. The developer and source of financing is JSC Russian Railways.
The investment project "Murmansk — Petrozavodsk, construction of second public railways" is being implemented in accordance with the orders of the Government of Russia on the development of railway infrastructure on the approaches to the ports of North-West Russia and the construction of the Lavna Sea Trade Port to ensure the passage of a future stream to the acting ports and ports under construction located in the northern part of the Kola Peninsula.
