Positive conclusion on the project of reorganization of the Kandalaksha station track development

On December 4, 2020, JSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Diggings) received FAI Glavgosexpertiza positive conclusion on the project for reorganizing the track development of the Kandalaksha station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway.

Station Kandalaksha (1172 km) is a precinct station on the Murmansk — Petrozavodsk line, located in the city of the same name. The station carries out operations to change locomotives and locomotive crews.

The project includes the reconstruction of the existing receiving and dispatching yard with the lengthening of five receiving and dispatching tracks to a usable length of at least 1050 m, the reconstruction of the main tracks and two necks with the construction of a new receiving and dispatching yard of four tracks 1050 m long. In addition, the project provides for the electrification of the newly laid track development, equipping the points and signals of the station with electrical interlocking of the MPTs-EL type with the construction of a new CBI post, construction of technological entrances and roads, noise screens and fences, as well as equipping the station with other necessary engineering infrastructure.

The design management was carried out by the chief engineer of the project of the department of nodes and stations, Andrey Viktorovich Efremov. The developer and source of financing is JSC Russian Railways.

The investment project "Murmansk — Petrozavodsk, construction of second public railways" is being implemented in accordance with the orders of the Government of Russia on the development of railway infrastructure on the approaches to the ports of North-West Russia and the construction of the Lavna Sea Trade Port to ensure the passage of a future stream to the acting ports and ports under construction located in the northern part of the Kola Peninsula.
