The connection of the future cargo bypass to the existing tracks at the Sosnovo station was approved by the administration of the Priozersky district of the Leningrad region in September last year. As it became known to Delovoy Peterburg (DP), after that Russian Railways in the course of negotiations with the regional government agreed to move the point of contact to the station Losevo-1. This is one of the options being worked out, the representatives of the October railway emphasized at a recent meeting in the Priozersky district administration.
According to the DP, leaving for Losevo is the most likely outcome of the negotiations, since it threatens the least number of conflicts with private owners and local residents. Note that initially the October railway considered the option with the Orekhovo station, but due to the density of buildings in that location, it was decided to move towards Sosnovo.
One of the topics for negotiations today is the choice of the optimal route for the region and the investor. They try to "lead" the line as much as possible through the state forest fund, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to completely avoid contact with settlements, highways, specially protected natural areas, cultural heritage sites (mainly former defensive structures), etc.
"Ideal situation is to avoid the settlements, but they (Russian Railways) will also not be able to complitely "bend" the route", — admits Vice Governor of the Leningrad Region Mikhail Ilyin. The head of the administration of the Zaporozhye settlement Anton Podrezov draws attention to the fact that the line in the current version of the tracing goes through the territory of the Sosnovsky state experimental hunting farm. “The elk migration route goes right across the track,” he says.
The route, which will take into account the current remarks of officials, according to the interlocutors of DP, can be finalized by Russian Railways within a month. After that it will be ready to be presented to the public. At the moment, the bypass is not reflected in the territorial schemes. The meeting in the Leningrad region administration is called productive, as is the outlined dialogue with Russian Railways on this project.
The North-Eastern bypass project provides for the construction of about 10 interchanges. The cost of 1 km of track is estimated by experts at about 1 billion rubles.
It is designed to provide cargo transportation for the port facilities of Primorsk and Vysotsk. "The length of the branch will be 132 km", — said a representative of Lengiprotrans JSC (general designer) during the meeting. It will run from Pavlovo-na-Neva to Losevo. Further, the Losevo — Kamennogorsk line will be used. The passage through the Rzhev training ground was approved by the Ministry of Defense at the end of last year.
The project for the construction of a new infrastructure for the transportation of goods to the northern ports also implies the emergence of the South-West cargo bypass, which will pass through the Lomonosov region. The discussion of its tracing is not yet complete.
Let us remind you that the construction of bypasses for freight trains is planned as part of a large-scale project for the development of the St. Petersburg railway node.
Its' need is explained by the future growth of traffic and the idea of separating passenger and freight lines. The existing passenger traffic will be preserved, emphasizes Mikhail Ilyin. Due to the transfer of freight cars to the South-Eastern bypass line, it can receive additional development, plus the transportation itself, as well as life in settlements located near the road, will become safer.
The project for the development of the railway junction also includes the construction of two half-rings of the city train (from Oranienbaum to Toksovo and from Gatchina to Beloostrov), which will have to unload city transport and ensure the availability of suburbs and Pulkovo airport. It is assumed that the half-rings, passing in parallel in the central part of the city, will be connected to metro stations. As stated earlier, the implementation of the concept will require 598.6 billion rubles until 2030.
