JSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Companies) in March 2020 received a positive conclusion from FAI Glavgosexpertiza of Russia for the "Murmansk — Petrozavodsk, construction of second public railways. Extension of the receiving and departure tracks at the Nigozero station of the Oktyabrskaya railway" project .
Nigozero is a 2nd class cargo station on the Murmansk direction of the Oktyabrskaya railway. In addition to passing transit freight and passenger trains, the station serves the non-public tracks of the Kondopoga PPM.
Under the leadership of the chief engineer of the project, Sergei Vladimirovich Kulkov, the work included the extension of part of the receiving and departure tracks to a unified length of 1050 m, the decisions were made taking into account the prospects for the construction of a second main track on adjacent hauls.
The implementation of the reconstruction measures proposed in the project, approved by the Oktyabrskaya Railway, will make it possible to organize the reception and departure of freight trains with 71 carriages.
