On August 21, 2017, PJSC Lengiprotrans (part of the 1520 Group of Companies) received a positive conclusion from the FAO Glavgosexpertiza of Russia No. 284-17 / SPE-4167/05 on the capital construction site Complex reconstruction of the Mga-Gatchina-Weimarn- Ivangorod and railway approaches to the ports on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. After the electrification of the Gatchina-Weimarn-Kotly-2 site, the Luga traction service for trains is envisaged to be performed by electric locomotives of the VL10, 2ES4K and 3ES4k series. Estimated capacity of the workshop when performing technical maintenance of TO-2 and equipment for a three-section electric locomotive of 3ES4k and two-section locomotive 2TE116 taken for the calculated index will be 42 units per day (including 26 electric locomotives and 16 diesel locomotives).
The construction of the PTVL on three repair routes, a long stall section of 66 m will allow for technical inspection of locomotives, replacement and lubrication of running parts, cleaning operations, acceptance and testing of electric locomotives. The service building is adjacent to the stables of the Ptole.

The development of the Mga-Gatchina-Weimarn-Ivangorod section, one of the most important railway transport facilities in the Leningrad Region, is necessary to ensure the delivery of cargo by rail to the sea trading port of Ust-Luga on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland in the Luga Bay.

"Lengiprotrans" is carrying out a complex of engineering surveys and design works of all stages for the development of the general-use infrastructure of the Ust-Luga railway junction since 2003. A full range of design and survey works was carried out on the site with obtaining of initial permissive documentation and implementation of author's supervision. Earlier, a number of key facilities were built, commissioned by the Institute's projects. Thus, today the railway junction is a pre-sorting sorting station Luzhskaya-Sortirovochnaya and portage cargo stations Luzhskaya-Severnaya, Luzhskaya-Yuzhnaya, Luga-Neftyanaya, as well as an industrial station for liquefied petroleum gas (Gazovaya), a base for infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance.

Thanks to the projected and under construction Luzhskaya-Sortirovochnaya - Luzhskaya-General-Luzhskaya-Neftyanaya branch, the node will loop, creating a maneuverability in the organization of train traffic.
